Hi! I am Eman Haque, an incoming junior at SMU here in Dallas, Texas. I am on the Pre-Med Track and am majoring in Biology and Art History. A little fun fact about me is that my name backwards is name (and no it was not on purpose). Due to COVID-19 much of my Spring and Summer plans were cancelled leaving me with a stay at home designation and too much time with my thoughts. So here I am channeling that energy into a blog discussing two of my passions Art and Medicine. Over the course of the past couple of months there have been tremendous events that will no doubt go down in history books as a turbulent time in this nation. I wanted to use this platform as not only an outlet for journaling thoughts as we live through this time, but also as a way to build macro connections with all the events occurring in the world. Besides having interests in Art History and Medicine I also have passions for amateur photography, reading, traveling, and ofcourse Netflix. As I continue through the Summer and eventually to Fall I am here to create my own self motivation and it will all be documented through this blog of the ideas, thoughts, and moments that made this quarantined year quality.
Hi! My name is Vaneeza James and I am a rising senior at SMU in Dallas, Texas. I am majoring in my favorite subject, Biology, on the Pre- Med track. I am so excited to be a part of this blog since it combines my two greatest loves, Fashion and Medicine. I am originally from New York, a fashion capital, and each day I would walk outside and it would be a living art exhibit. Each person’s outfits were mesmerizing, some followed trends while adding their own twists, and some were unapologetically themselves… I loved it. I got my knack of fashion from my Dad. Growing up we would talk about the latest trends and I even considered pursuing a career in fashion. However, once I moved to Texas I put on my pair of cowgirl boots and took my first set of college science classes, and I realized that I had another great love, Medicine. The ability to help others and cure lives is amazing. This passion for Medicine was further motivated through the passing of my Grandmother due toCancer and I had the hope that more could have been done. I believe there is a lack of compassionate physicians and I knew that one day I could truly make the difference in an individual’s life. This pandemic has shown me more than ever the importance of caring physicians. We are starting this blog at a really odd time amidst COVID-19 is a great outlet for connecting my personal life moments with my greater passions.

Excited to hear your unique perspectives!
